Garam Dharam already has the crowd. 

Garam Dharam has reigned as the top most male star for the last 10 years and his 8 successive hits " Jugnu " , "Yaadon Ki Baaraat", "Loafer", "Kahani Kismet Ki", "Do Chor",  "Samadhi " ,"Jwar Bhata" and "Keemat" In 1973 has consolidated his position in such a way that Garam Dharam will continue to be "tops" for years to come . 

As if to compensate, we had a bumper crop of new heroines. The 1973 batch of Institute girls (Shabana, Zarina, Neelam, Rita, Ritu) was specially good But Sulakshana beat Everybody in the race by bagging 40 assignments in just a few months. The top heroines today are Hema, Zeenat and Rekha- in that order. 

Sunil Dutt staged a terrific comeback (notwithstand- ing his statement. What coming back? I had never gone). Amitabh Bachchan , Shashi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra have also become hot favourites. After "Victoria No. 203". "Dharma" and "Bobby" became big hits the industry suddenly developed a lot of respect for veterans and Pran and Premnath reached newer heights of stardom Veterans Surendranath, Jalraj and Trilok Kapoor also began to get roles after a long time. 

The Hit films of 1973 : Bobby, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Jugnu, Zanjeer, Anurag, Loafer, Daag, Kahani Kismet Ki, Dharma, Aa Gale Lag Ja, Namak Haraam,Samadhi Jaise Ko Taisa, Do Chor , Anhonee, Abhimaan. 

The Production Graph in 1973 broke all records. Starting at 395 films in 1970 , it went to 433 films in 1971 and reached nearly 500 films by the end of 1972. And the 1973 witnessed almost around 550 releases.

 Tough guy SUNIL SHETTY is nowadays facing the toughest time of his life. He has been having all big banner films going for him, but somehow they are failing to make it big at the box-office.
